Creative Corner Studio

The little art space filling a big community need

I've worked with Jen from Creative Corner Studio for many years, so when she asked for help with her new creative space, I jumped at the chance to be a part of it!

The studio is a purpose designed space for creative art classes for kids and workshops for adults. Jen had previously run kids art classes in an inner city community centre for over a decade, but when a shopfront became available in her beloved Dulwich Hill, she knew it was time to grow her business and establish her own magic space.

She wanted the branding to reflect the feeling of the space: fun, friendly and nurturing, with colour playing a major role. So we came up with a font that reflected this along with a bright colour palette.

Something was missing..

And when we started thinking about little monster characters to accompany the typography, everything clicked! On her journey as an artist, Jen has gone through periods of character creation before, so this hugely resonated, and she knew as soon as she saw it that this was the right approach.

Our design journey was unfolding with perfect synchronicity!

We rolled out the branding on everything from signage to aprons, stickers to posters and flyers and right across the digital landscape.

Jen was seeing her dream become a serious reality in super quick time. Together we created a carefully curated Instagram grid of images for opening, a new website (which she and I designed together but I did not build) to accompany her social presence, a bunch of digital marketing collateral to email out detailing each class and workshop offering, and of course, a grand opening event to introduce her to the community!
